Global Laboratory Conference: The Digital Future of Textile Testing, from Manual Lab to Intelligent Lab

ChiuVention, a pioneer in AI-, automation- and IoT-enabled textile testing technology, has strengthened its presence in Bangladesh. It did so by hosting a technical seminar organized by the leading European brand BESTSELLER and by introducing a range of advanced automated testing machines to the country’s textile and apparel industry.

The technical seminar was hosted by Md. Shariful Islam, CEO of SN Apparels and ChiuVention’s sole agent in Bangladesh. It drew more than 100 testing professionals, quality control specialists and industry representatives from leading textile factories and testing organizations across the country.

The discussions centered on how advanced testing technology can raise textile quality, improve production efficiency and support compliance with international standards. With Bangladesh competing strongly in the global apparel market, manufacturers are looking for testing solutions that are accurate, repeatable and fast.

“Test Smart Now”: Message from Tom, Sourcing Manager at BESTSELLER

BESTSELLER’s Global Quality Team joined the conference, with members travelling from Turkey, India, Cambodia, Denmark and Bangladesh.

BESTSELLER Global Sourcing Manager Mr. Tom also attended. He observed that with the instruments commonly used today, whether European, American or Chinese, testing and R&D data cannot be fully traced or recorded.

“As a brand, we want every piece of data in our supply chain to be recorded, and we want to secure our quality through smart IoT, automation and AI-based instruments. ChiuVention stood out as a pioneer here and convinced us that this goal was achievable. I visited them and saw their instruments capture data in real time, connect to our ERP, and record everything with ease. The build quality is excellent too. That is why we organised this global Laboratory Conference, bringing together our global team and all BESTSELLER suppliers in Bangladesh to introduce ChiuVention’s instruments and their features.”

Modern Testing Technology as a Driver of Bangladesh’s Future Growth

Addressing the audience, Md. Shariful Islam stressed that adopting modern testing technology is key to the industry’s long-term growth. “Bangladesh has earned a strong place in the global textile and apparel industry, yet holding that place demands constant progress in quality, technology, and testing capability. We want to bring advanced, dependable testing solutions closer to manufacturers so they can improve accuracy, shorten testing time and meet the changing demands of international buyers.”

He added that automation matters more and more as manufacturers are pushed to raise productivity without compromising consistency. “Testing should not be treated as merely the last checkpoint before products leave the line. It is a core part of the whole quality management system. Smart, automated equipment gives manufacturers more dependable data, reduces human error, and speeds up decision-making.”

Technical Insights from ChiuVention

Forrest Chiu, President of ChiuVention, presented the company’s latest testing technologies and shared technical insights, followed by an interactive Q&A session with industry professionals.

Describing ChiuVention’s plans for the Bangladesh market, Forrest Chiu said: “We are delighted to support Bangladesh’s textile industry with smart, automated testing solutions that improve efficiency and reliability. Bangladesh is a major hub for textile and apparel manufacturing, and we believe advanced testing technology can play a real part in its continued progress.”

He also underlined that practical technical support must go hand in hand with advanced equipment. “Technology delivers the most value when users know how to operate it well and read the results correctly. So we support our customers with more than machines: we also offer training, technical knowledge and long-term service.”

In addition, ChiuVention has become the world’s first company registered on a Digital Product Passport (DPP) platform for DPP regulations.

Live Demonstration of Advanced Testing Machines

The live demonstration was one of the seminar’s highlights. Attendees watched the machines run and saw first-hand how precise, fast and repeatable they are. ChiuVention presented several automated solutions built to meet key textile performance and quality requirements.

The SmartShrink Shrinkage Rate Tester can measure fabric shrinkage and twist rates after washing, steaming and dry-cleaning in just 5 seconds. It helps manufacturers assess dimensional stability and keep finished products consistent.

The Smartindale Martindale Abrasion & Pilling Tester assesses how well fabrics resist abrasion and pilling, two properties that are vital for judging durability and how well a textile keeps its appearance in use. A particularly interesting feature is its Lissajous motion.

The AirFicient Air Permeability Tester measures how much air passes through a fabric, giving useful insight into performance and suitability for different end uses.

The HydroBurst Bursting Strength Tester evaluates how well textile materials withstand pressure, helping manufacturers judge their strength and durability.

ChiuVention says these automated solutions are designed to raise testing productivity, cut human error and deliver more consistent results, while supporting international standards such as ISO, ASTM and AATCC.

Supporting Bangladesh’s Quality Ambitions

International buyers increasingly expect consistency, durability, safety and regulatory compliance, which makes reliable laboratory testing ever more important for Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector. Automated testing can reduce reliance on manual processes, improve repeatability and shorten testing cycles. Faster, more efficient testing also helps quality teams spot problems earlier, lowering the risk that defects reach later stages of production.

Md. Shariful Islam added that Bangladesh’s next phase of growth will depend on technology-driven quality management. “Bangladesh has already shown the world what it can manufacture. The next challenge is to strengthen our technology and testing capabilities. With smart testing systems, our factories can work more efficiently, reinforce quality assurance and earn greater confidence from global buyers.”

Expanding Technical Support in Bangladesh

ChiuVention intends to deepen its presence in Bangladesh by providing technical training, after-sales support and customized solutions for local textile manufacturers. Working through its local sole agent, SN Apparels, the company aims to give manufacturers better access to advanced testing equipment, technical expertise and support.

The seminar showed the industry’s rising interest in automation and smart quality control. As Bangladesh’s textile and apparel makers move toward higher-value products, greater efficiency and stricter international compliance, advanced testing systems are likely to become an ever more important part of the sector’s technology landscape.

ChiuVention’s entry and expansion into Bangladesh therefore arrives at a pivotal moment, giving manufacturers new tools to strengthen quality assurance and supporting the country’s goal of staying competitive in the global textile and apparel industry.

Please note that the BESTSELLER Global Team and all of its suppliers, including Intertek, BV, SGS, TUV, Hohenstein and GMS Testing Laboratories, were present at the conference.
