apparel?
Answer: Apparel is
a particular type of clothes. For example children’s/women’s apparel
riding/sports apparel.
2. What is Garment?
Answer: A garment can be called a piece of clothing, as a coat, a gown, etc. The garment is one of the items of a complete dress.
3. What is Clothing?
Answer: Clothes or Clothing is a collective term for items worn on the body. When the fabric is cut and sewing according to measurement or the shape of a human body called clothing.
Answer: Fashion is a popular style, especially in clothing it can be called a new trend or design clothes that people wear.
5. What is the pattern?
Answer: Patterns are paper templates for all the components of a garment, such as cloths, lining, interlining which have to be cut for a garment. These patterns are used to draw the sketch on cloth or marker paper.
6. What are the types of pattern?
Answer: Pattern is two types:
- Block pattern.
- Working pattern.
1. Block pattern: Block pattern or basic block indicates the original pattern. Block Pattern is made based on the specific and standard body measurement without any design or style.
2. Working pattern: The working pattern is derived from the block Pattern. Here sewing allowance, Trimming allowance, Buttonhole, button attaching, dart, pleat, Notch, shrinkage of the fabric, etc are added and cut with a sharp scissor or knife according to garment size and name of the parts are written on the pattern pieces.
7. What is Grading?
Answer: Grading means the stepwise increase or decrease of a master pattern piece to create larger or smaller sizes.
8. What is Grain Line?
Answer: Pattern pieces normally carry a line is called Grain Line. Grain Line of pattern pieces usually is parallel to the warp (woven) or wale (knit).
9. What is a marker?
Answer: A marker is a mixing of many pattern sizes drawn on to a thin paper prior to cutting.
10. What is Marker efficiency?
Answer: Marker efficiency is the percentage of the total fabric that is actually used in garment parts.
11. What is spreading?
Answer: Spreading is the process of stacking of layers of fabric to allow simultaneous cutting. The marker is laid on the topmost of the layer.
12. What is splice?
Answer: If any fault is found in the fabric during the preparation of fabric lay with spreading, it is cut out to fabric width. Then fabric spreading is again started by overlapping of a new end on the cut end of the fabric as possible.
13. What is Fabric lay?
Answer: Spreading means the smooth laying out of the fabric in the superimposed layer (plies) of specified length and after spreading the shape of fabric plies is called fabric lay.
14. What is cutting?
Answer: Cut out the garment pieces from the lays of fabric with the help of cutting template or marker or process of separating garment parts from the fabric lay in precise size and shape.
15. What are the types of fabric cutting?
Answer: Fabric can be cut into three methods:
1. Completely
manual technique-Hand operated scissors.
2. Manually
operated powered knife:
- Straight Knife
- Round knife
- Band knife
- Die cutter
- Notcher
- Drill
3. Computerized
technique:
- Knife cutting
- Cutting by water jet
- Laser cutting
- Plasma torch cutting
