SMV calculation of a Girls Swimwear

Problem: From the above table, we find total cycle time is 6.308 minutes, suppose the performance rating of all operators is 85% for Swimwear. Now, Find out the SMV for that Swimwear. 

Solution: 

We know,

SMV = Basic time + Allowance
          = (Cycle time × Rating) + (Bundle allowances + machine and personal allowances)
          = (6.308× 0.85) + (Bundle allowances + machine and personal allowances)
          = 5.36 + ( 6.308 × 10%)+ (6.308× 20%)
          = 5.36 + 0.630 + 1.26
          = 7.25

So, we find out SMV for that Swimwear is 7.25 minutes.

Production target calculation of a Girls Swimwear:

Problem: We find SMV for that Swimwear is 7.25 minutes. Suppose, No. of workers of that line is 22, the efficiency of that line 80%.  Find out the production target per day of that Swimwear in one sewing line.

Solution: 

Here,
SMV = 7.25 Minute.
No. of worker = 22.
Line efficiency = 80% = 0.80
We know, Total working hour in a day = 8 hr.

Now, 

Production Target = {(Total manpower per line × Total working min per day )/ S.M.V.} × Efficiency
                                  = { (22 × 8 × 60) / 7.25 } × 0.80
                                  = 1165.24~ 1165
                                  = 1165 pieces.

So, Daily production target = 1165 pieces in one sewing line

and Hourly production target = 1165 / 8
                                                       = 145.625 pieces / hr.
                                                       = 145 Pieces/hr in one sewing line.
