Super White Denim Wash | Full application procedure of Super White Denim Wash

Denim garments which made by denim fabric are the top choice of trendy fashionable people. They love to wear denim garments for their unique design and comfortability. Most of the new outlook is come by applying different types of washing technique.

Super white washing is a popular wash technique that applies to increase the whiteness outlook of the denim garments. After applying the super white wash, the garment looks extremely white. Sometimes the whitening agent is used.

Chemicals used in super white washing process:

1. Detergent: Detergent is used for removing different impurities such as sizing materials, Wax, Oil, Dust, etc. from the garment.
2. Soda ash ( Na₂CO₃ ): To maintain or control the pH of the solution.
3. Caustic Soda ( NaOH ): NaOH is a base that required for water treatment in the bath and makes it base medium. 
4. Hydrogen peroxide ( H₂O₂ ): Hydrogen peroxide is also known as the universal bleaching agent.
5. Acetic acid ( CH₃COOH ): Acetic acid used for the neutralization process in the solution.
6. Optical brightener: To use to give desire white color of the garment.
7. Softner: To use to give the soft hand feel of the garment.

Super whitewash procedure for 100 kg garments is given below ; 

1. Desizing process: The process of removing size material which applied in the weaving section and increases the absorbency power to the fabric is known as Desizing. 

• Batch size: Load 100 kg cotton grey fabrics in the M/C
• Add Water L:R: 1:9
• Then start Machine to run
• Wait until raise temperature 80-90°C
• Add detergent 3% = 27 gm
• Add caustic soda 7% = 63 gm
• Add Soda ash  6% = 54 gm
• Add H₂O₂ 12% = 108 gm
• Stabilizer  5% = 45 gm
• Time: 65-70 minutes
• Drop the liquor

2. Bleaching process: The process by which the natural color of the fabric can be removed and makes the textile materials pure white is called bleaching.

• Add detergent 1-2% = 9-18 gm
• Add Caustic soda 3-5% = 27-45 gm
• Add Hydrogen per oxide 5-6% = 45-54 gm
• Add Stabilizer 2% = 18 gm
• Time: 50-60 minutes
• Temperature: 85-90°C

3. Hot Wash process: The hot wash is required to remove the exccessive chemical in the wash bath.

• Temperature: 50°C-80°C
• Time: 5 minutes
• Drop the liquor

4. Neutralization process: After the hot wash process, Neutralization is required for continuing the next process. It does in the acid medium.

• Add Acetic acid  2% = 18gm
• Time: 5-10 minutes
• Cold wash

5. Brightening process: The Brightening process is the most important process because it increases the required white outlook of the garments.

• Add optical brightener agent  0.5-0.6% =4.5-5.4 gm
• Time: 5-10 minutes

6. Softening process: The softening process is required to give the garments soft hand feel.

• Add softener  0.5-1% =4.5-9
• Time: 5-10 minutes

7. Hydro extracting process: The Hydro extractor machine is used to remove extra water from the garments.

8. Drying process: The drying process is the last process of the washing. Here the drying machine is used to dry the garment in a relevant temperature. 

• Load 100 kg garments to the gas dryer
• Machine running
• Temperature: 75°C-85°C
• Time: 42 minutes in a hot dryer
• After that run 10 minutes in the cold dryer.

9. Quality Checking: Quality check is the must process before it transfers to the packaging or delivery. Here all the garments check and if there found any uneven washing then it called for reject.

10. Delivery: Finally the denim garments ready for delivery

Super white washing is one of the popular and easy application processes in garments washing. It makes a garment more white than before.
